I’m still bummed out about things- but this is a nice time capsule for the excitement of election night. It feels like the the doppelganger of when I watched the results in England in 2004- so far away, but so tied to everything that was going on stateside and yet the opposite emotions and results, of course.

It would have been cool to read it live instead of the next day, but all the same it was amazing to be there in Grant Park. I think they said that there were 125,000 people in the park, plus more out on Michigan Ave. It was also pretty sweet to get a phone call from Slovenia in the middle of the rally.

We followed election night the same way you did, at the same time, thousands of miles away (in Chicago), and flagged the same turning points. When Pennsylvania held for Obama, McCain was checked. When Ohio tipped for Obama, it was over. The rest was a U.S. jigsaw puzzle dropping into place. Now we hope election talent equals good governance. It would be hard not to improve on the last eight years.
