I’d be tempted to make well thought out comments using proper grammar and spelling, which is entirely inappropriate for Youtube. “We didn’t start the flame war” on College Humor is another funny commentary on the subject.

It seems that in many languages (German and Arabic for example) this multiple levels of language has been accepted reality for generations. I.E. Arabs write in localese for local communication but when a bunch get together they revert to a more sterile and formal pan-Arab. It’s almost getting that way in Spanish, isn’t it! But it’s a new thing for English, having two actual written standards.
