Apparently “douche” in Dutch means something like “bath”. When I bought shower gel, it rang up on the register as “douche”, and this sign was on the door to the bathroom in my first hotel.

Brendan! Came here via facebook- am very impressed with your project, if a bit fuzzy on the specs. Will be keeping up, safe travels x
PS- ‘Douche’ is French for shower, perhaps adopted by the Dutch in the tradition of français-pour-la-hospitalité?
